logo-dmcThe Oregon Meditation Center in Portland is a non-profit organization with a primary purpose to teach meditation. It is our conviction that individual peacefulness of mind underlies the collective potential for harmony and peace in the world. Oregon Meditation Center co-operates with the Dhammakaya Foundation headquarters in Thailand, a non-governmental organization of the United Nations.

TWith the determination to create a peaceful world, Ven Dhammajayo Bhikku projectedto establish a temple with a vision of a sanctuary for peaceful spiritual practice and for disseminating Buddishm to extend the determination of Phra Monkolthepmuni, the Great Abbot of Wat Paknam. In accordance to Ven. Dhammajayo Bhikkhu projects, the Oregon Mediation Center was founded on April 2005 in the city of Portland, by the cllaboration of the kalyanamitra (good spirtiual friends who love dhamra pratice) with the following objectives: Make a Wat (temple) to be genuine Wat. Make a Phra (monk) to be a genuine Phra: Make an individual be a genuine individual. Together, the Mediation Center has concetrated on training Buddhist theories and pratices to interested dharma learners.

TIn the period for eight years, the Oregon Meditation Center has created numerous valuable outcomes to Buddism and a society in the are of human’s potential development, beginnig with improving the quality of people’s minds together with inculcating norms and basic morals.
